Pediatric Ophthalmology

Children’s eyes grow and change quickly in their first few years of life. Regular eye examinations are important to make sure that a child’s eyes and vision are developing normally. Certain problems can develop during the early years of life such as need for glasses, strabismus and cataracts which can lead to amblyopia. Amblyopia is decrease in vision in one or both eyes due to abnormal development of vision early in life. Children can also develop chronic tearing due to a blocked tear duct which can lead to recurrent infections.Glaucoma happens in children as well and is important to identify and diagnose early to prevent vision damage.

Close follow up with a pediatric ophthalmologist can help screen for these problems and treat them early. Here at Corrective Eye Center we can assess your child’s needs and follow them closely for these and other conditions. Schedule an appointment with Dr. Shafran today!
